Founded in 2000, the annual Russian Film Week in New York was the highlight of the season for the tri-state Russian speaking population. In 2011, the festival set out to conquer a larger audience, and introduce modern Russian filmmaking to those interested in the culture and non-Hollywood cinema. Global stepped in to generate the additional buzz and add the ‘cool factor’ to an established cultural brand, without jeopardizing its authenticity and alienating its loyal followers.
